Awesome video of 540/6 beating a 427 Vette
I love the roar of the cams that can be heard when he's heating up the tires.

I've seen that video. As most of us here know, M62
is considerably more than 282hp. How else to explain 5.6 sec 0-60 for a car that weighs 3750lbs and has tall 2.81 diff. Since I swiched diff to 3.15, car is a monster between 3k-5k rpm. I still haven't acceleration numbers to see the difference.

K-Bud, correct if I'm wrong about something.
In my case, every time I drive my car or look at it while parked somewhere amongst other cars, I simply laugh when I look at the design and cheapness of a lot of newer cars.
That video is a reminder how fast 540 still is, even by todays standards. It's your business to sell your car, and I understand you're not driving it, but the moment somebody drives it off, you'll miss it.
it just seems you lost that connection and it's a shame, because you car is very nice and somebody will be a lucky guy.

Nahhhhh I really do luv the car and i look at it
when i walk away or park it somewhere still to this day. its more about being somewhat practical at this point and i have other plans for the $ if someone does buy it.
Gotta let go at some point i figure but then again as i've said if it doesn't sell its not that big a deal as I have no problem keeping it either.

How true ...
Once you get rid of the haze of nostalgia for "the good ole days," these cars (at least showroom stock) were not that fast. A Pontiac GTO with standard equipment was around 15.0 in the low 90's and topped out at about 135mph. That's 530i country, and dechipped the I6 will touch 150.
An E39 M5 is quicker than the legendary Ferrari Daytona. With the exception of the Corvette, most of the classic musclecars didn't handle, couldn't stop, and were rather unpleasant to drive. But they're sure bringing the bucks at auction.
