    Z4M Battery Cover Removal

I recently purchased a 2006 Z4M and have purchased a battery tender for my winter storage. the tender comes with a cable that can be attached to the battery connections perminately and has a plug for hooking up the tender as needed. I looked throughout the manual and I could not find any description to gat at the battery. Ther seams to be two bolts on the cover but hard to get at. Can anyone help?

I hook my battery tender up to the Positive and Ground
posts under the hood and leave the hood ajar for easy access
to the cable clips when I find a nice day to fire my 06 M
    up during the winter.

    Re: Z4M Battery Cover Removal

That is what I was looking for. Thanks very much. I just received the tender in the mail and now I need to figure out the bast place to attach it. I keep the car outside with a cover over it. I originally had a 2000 Z3 but it was crushed last winter by some falling trees. The Z4 M was purhased in March and this is my first winter with it. I typically would drive the Z3 every 4-5 weeks weather permitting and never needed a tender for the battery. The Z4 M has much more electronics so I want to keep it tended. Since it is outside I cannot leave the hood or trunk open so I will need a place to run the wire outside and the trunk seemed a better choice.

    Re: Z4M Battery Cover Removal

The cable on my battery tender fits nicely through the
gap by the front fender. I only leave the hood ajar because
I keep the M inside in our barn.

I bought a car cover for it a couple years ago when it was going to have to live outside while we replaced a ratty old barn with a new
one. I found that the wind shifting the cover fabric around scuffed
up the paint on the hood where the two ribs run down the center.
It only took a few days. The car cover has never gone back on it.

the battery in my 07 Z4 is in teh trunk under the floor panel. I attached aquick connect for a battery tender & extended it up thru the trunk floor panel. I just connect it there & extend out over the rear bumper, then close the trunk. it work sfine I also cover my Ze with a NOAH full car cover with the tender connected & have had no problems
