    Trunk Lock Fix

My trunk stopped locking with the auto function the other day and I was unable to lock the trunk (trunk open light). I found a broken spring and research showed I needed part #51-24-8-236-897 arounf $100.00 and spring wasn't sold separately. I took the broken spring to Ace Hardware and they had the exact size spring for $.89!

If not if that spring breaks, it's when!

    Re: Trunk Lock Fix

I had the same thing happen to me, but I was unable to find the rite spring so I just bent a new loop on the side that broke and re-insalled it. That was about 2 years ago and it's still working...I'm knocking on wood as I write this....
