Where do BMW employees buy their coffee and soda?

Hi,

Took a really nice drive down to have my wife's car fixed and drop by a lawyer's office for a vi$it. It occurred to me after visiting a Starbucks and buying a few different coffee mugs for Christmas gifts (and for us), that none of them fit the Z3's cupholders. No soda bottle I have seen fits either cupholder, with or without the little ring insert.

I want to use an insulated sealed container to store the brown nectar I crave; anyone have any suggestions on either a cup that works or an aftermarket cupholder that works and holds things securely?

You might check your local RV store. I've seen adapters that go in a smaller size hole and come out with much larger type device, some are even adjustable. Of course that would raise the height of your drink??2001 ///M Roadster #16

That's why I want better cupholders!

I drive my Z3 regularly on my morning commute so yes, I always have my coffee or soda on the road. If I'm out zipping around mountain passes then, no.

ULTIMATE CUPHOLDERS

I have two in my 530i an they work great...although I only allow water in the car (or the VERY rare cup of coffee with a lid if it's a long trip). I haven't tried them in the Z3 but they would just slide under the console. They are expensive, though...

If you have the cup-holder with the coinbox, do you have the reducing adapter that fits in the forward cup-holder?

If so, BMW has a 12 oz. insulated cup that fits nicely for short trips, but I prefer this 16 0z. vacuum insulated cup from Thermos http://www.thedailymug.com/onbathrasttu.html. It works well to keep drinks hot or cold for quite a long while. It is the best coffee tumbler I've ever used.

It rides in the forward holder with the adapter ring or the rear holder. The bottom is a little out of round so it has a slight wobble, but I've never had a problem with spilling.

and Yes, I have coffee in my car.

It was my understanding that BMW only put them in as a concession to American habits.
