Phillips Vision Plus bulb- safe to use?

Is it safe to use the 55w Phillips Vision Plus H7 bulb to replace the OEM Hella halogen AE low beam bulb? Is there a real improvement in the low beam performance which I find currently is lacking?

I've been using them for nigh on to 8 years>>

now. The lighting is improved, but don't expect these bulbs to start forest fires. Seems like Philips says 10-20% improvement, IIRC.

Phillips Vision Plus bulb- in my car 9 years

I have the VisionPlus bulbs in the high beam circuit. So far, they have been fine. I think there was improvement over the stock bulbs, but it was subtle. I also installed them in my daughter's Volvo V70 after I bought the genuine European Hella light units. That made a dramatic improvement over the grim DOT-specified lights, but most of the improvement, of course, was due to the improved reflectors and lens.

just buy a HID conversion kit for $39.99

and call it a day. I converted all my cars and never looked back. literally night and day difference. At this low price its actually dumb not to do it.
I did the low beam only as I like the halogen's longer effect but on low beam it can not be beaten.

this is a biggest BS I have ever read.

its much better then halogen and as far as blinding... same as any BMW or Porsche. It is much brighter so it does blinds you more but so does the "real" kits. I see the cars oncoming and I can tell which one is the BMW Porsche Audi with the xenon kits. They have the oem kit and still they blind me. Same as my car no difference. This light pattern BS sounds good but it is still a BS.
The HID conversion will never be as good as the real HID, I admit. Its about 90% of the real kit. But that is still about 40% better then the halogen. Its a win-win situation.

I think this guy who wrote the article has either interest in NOT buying hid kits or just his head is upside in his rear.

I have been using HID kits since 2004 and no trouble. I used to pay 280usd for a kit then 200 ... and now its 36.99... I would never go back to halogen.

I advise you to try it. 36.99 and about 30 minutes of your time.
Once you have it on write the story here. I guarantee you, it will not be a change back to halogen.

Any comments on the Philps X-Treme Power bulbs

These appear to be a step up from the Vision Plus ones. I think you jump up to 65 watts though, which could possiby create a heat problem. Anyone successfully tried these?
