    S52? Spicy!

Any suspension plans post-swap to handle the weight difference up front?

    Looks good BTW. ;)

    Noice! (m)

S52 with a 5 speed? It will need a road trip to Virginia for fun when the weather warms up.

Congratulations on bringing back a classic E30 ragtop.

    Re: S52? Spicy!

Might puss out and go for an m50 or m52 as those are a bit cheaper. I'm only going to do one thing next year, either the swap or the paint.

I was going to go for the engine and trans first but the paint is disgusting (crappy Maaco job) and I think an imola red respray and a 1990+ bumper conversion would really make it cherry, especially now that the interior is MINT.

    Thanks cek

This is the exact car that made me a bimmerphile.

I still remember when my dad pulled up in the driveway with it... I was 8 years old.

    When I was 8

My dad pulled up in a used '75 full size Chevy wagon. It was also red, but not an enthusiast's car by any stretch. ;)

Sounds like a bargain... cough cough.

In general, though... how expensive is E30 repair? Are parts readily available?======================================== =================

    Re: Well let's see....

No problem with parts availability. Repairs seem in line with what I've experienced on all my 3 series.

The big first bill was because my cousin let it sit outside for like 8 years. Lots of work had to be done to make it roadworthy. Fewer wierd idle sounds than my m3... purrs like a kitten.

    Re: When I was 8

We had an awesome seventy something caprice wagon at the time... also red but with wood on the side. Unfortuantely that car met its end after being parked on some dry leaves. ended up replacing it with a Volvo 740 turbo i think.

Yeah I've had this for over a year now. I gave it to my father so it stays outside the city.
