Very cool...
I was very into graffiti growing up and I still try to follow the local scene here. It's amazing how it is viewed as legitimate in the art world now. In the late 80s and early 90s here there was a concentrated campaign waged against graffiti which practically eliminated it from the subway system. Now some of the most wanted grafitti artists from the 90s are selling works for thousands of dollars.
There was a piece up for auction at Philips de Pury last Friday that was done by three pretty famous NYC graff artists (Cope, T-Kid & Ghost). It was 6 subway maps with pieces by them on each map. I really liked 3 of them and Cope really was the king of nyc in the mid 90s so I registered to bid on it. It was supposed to sell for around $3k... ended up going for $13k! I couldn't even get my bid in before it was up to double digits!

A friend of mine bought a couple of his pieces, plus he's designed the last two t-shirts for our big october vw show here. He's got talent.
