    Project VCG Replacement

I removed my valve covers today and where the conduit enters at the firewall from the wiring box on the passenger side of the vehicle was so brittle it just fell apart.

Does that whole section need removed? How has everyone else handled that or am I the lucky one to figure it out.

Here's the photo I meant to attach.

I am getting brittle firewall pieces also

Replaced a couple pieces already, they crumbled to the touch. My air filter box appears about to go next. Already a piece you can live without has broken.

    Re: Project VCG Replacement

The CEC closing panel arrived and I installed it without any trouble at all. When I removed the old it continued to shatter and fall all over the place. Since I have my valve covers removed I covered the cams with large workshop towels to prevent any of the plastics from entering.

Thanks for everyone's input on part and replacement. The dealer charged me approximately $39.

    Re: Project VCG Replacement

I finally got my valve covers back from being powered coated and I think they look great. Of course compared to their old finish anything looks better. Here are a couple photo's and I hope to get them installed by this weekend.
