Just bought this dual fan clutch holder tool.

The seller has good reputation so I'm hoping for decent quality. I like the fact that it's made to fit both M62 and M52 engines as usually you have to have 2 different holders.

So far I had luck with using thin screwdriver, but I'm getting tired of bent screwdrivers and the dangers when you're applying the pressure.

Once I receive it I'll post the update.

Hard to tell from the pic. Tool needs to be>>

thick enough to support a circular slot on the backside to clear the edge of the pump pulley.

NICE FIND. They usually dont see too much force

My friend made one from sheet metal, actually he made 2 and epoxied them together to make it strong enough. But usually the fan should come off easy since it shouldn't be torqued down to begin with. I use a 32mm wrench and a rubber mallet (2 whacks), the belts usually enough to hold it in place.

I cant understand why some people think its OK to use a giant flat head screwdriver directly on the fan clutch nut and a hammer. Its OK if your changing the water pump but if not you better expect the water pump to start leaking or the bearings to take a dump on you a lot sooner than normal.

Got one of my neighbors who owns a 528 to buy it. We're both due for WP replacements so this was a good catch.

    Thanks,

I have had good luck in holding the bolt with an adjustable wrench and the rapping the wrench with a hammer.

The good luck includes the time I missed the wrench and broke the hard rubber pipe from the stat with the hammer. The new pipe is aluminum.

UPDATE! It's actually Baum tool, which is a good

news. I haven't received yet, but I've got e-mail from Baum tools saying they shipped me a package. I was afraid of cheap chinese knock off, so I'm pleasantly surprised. It's #115050.
