Any harm in this??

..or should I just wait to go to town again. I'm ready to change my oil and I have 5 quarts of Castrol 5w-30 at home. I also have 2 quarts of Castrol 10w-30 sitting in the garage (for another car I own). Can I use these 7 readily available quarts or would the 10w-30 be detrimental in any way? All synthetic, not conventional or blends, all Castrol Syntec. It would save me a trip into town but I can wait if necessary. Just a convenience issue.

brands of oil...if the oils are specifically to be used for gas eng. it should'nt be any problem, but if the oil is to be use with diesel eng. it is a different story.

I guess I didn't explain that very well. Never mind. I'll just put it off for now and get two more quarts of 5w-30.

Not harmful. I'd mix ONE of those 10w30 quarts with the 5w30 ones in each of the next 2 oil changes, giving the equivalent of about 6w30 viscosity.
