    I'm wondering about the implementation...

I'll need to do some reading up, but I saw in a note that someone said it remembers the spots for 5 days. That seems like there will be some serious spam of long-gone traps. Perhaps when they reach critical mass of enough users, then can trim that down to 1 or 2 days.
Also, I guess that every moving cop car with his radar on gets logged. That's not really a speed trap and it's certainly not going to be accurate in showing where a cop may be even 10 minutes after the event. I don't know if they require any input from the driver to log what kind of speed trap it was. you know... a couple button pop up and you press one for stationary trap, another one for moving car, another one for grovery store automatic door openers...etc.
For now, I bet it's really unreliable, but I think they are probably doing the right thing by having too many than too few warnings.

Re: I'm wondering about the implementation...

Messed around with this a couple of months back. I didn't use the integration function becuase of the way mine is hardwired, only the GPS/network function.

I lost interest quickly but this seems like, at a minimum, a great way to inexpensively add a concealed display to your V1 and if the user base cilmbs then the GPS function could have serious value. I will probably set up my next car to work with this app & system.

can you get the app to work without the V1?

Eventually, the non V1 owners will want to benefit from the data. I bet you could sell that as a subscription service or something an make some money off it.=============================================== ==========

Yes, that's how I was using it

Because my V1 is hardwired I couldn't easily connect the adaptor piece you need to integrate the V1. The app is free and it shows you the same information just without the v1 integration.

yes, but there are a lot of them on the road. (m)

with the cloaking, most people don't bother to conceal them at all. they look like window mounted GPS systems.
