If you choose that option, make sure your card
REALLY stands out (i.e. less is more) as it will be one of 50-60 in the bunch. I used to get those occasionally. I fanned through/tossed them real quick. I can't say whether that's cheaper than going the bulk mail post card route.
No matter what you do, offer an incentive for your prospective customers to give you their email address so you can migrate over to electronic format only. You DO have a website up, right? If not, why not?

I always toss that crap in the recycle bin unread
And if you stick a flyer on my door I'll make it a point to never use your service.
Do a simple website with an easy to remember name, put it and a phone number on all your vehicles. People will see your crews working and if the crew does a good job people will check out the site.

A web site is the single most important thing you
should do. It doesn't have to be extravagant initially. A simple "corporate presence" site can be done for free or next to nothing. Hosting (don't commit for more than 1 year) is equally cheap. The idea is to get SOMETHING up. Otherwise, it's like saying you're going to save up your money for your first car and choosing a new M3. That's a lot of time walking when you could've been driving a $hitbox for years.

move to a hosting company that give you free
templates. You can have a usable site in a day or two's worth of moderate work.
Home Page
Services page (s)
Contact Page
It doesn't have to be super slick. It just has to not look like a teenagers myspace page and it needs some useful information.
FWIW - hostgator.com has been 99% reliable and has a ****ton of free templates.
