Craig in Canada, it seems that dark cloud that

Euro sent you is now heading to southern USA.

First, I finally found the problem for 528 steering wheel shake while braking. Right inner tie rod has a play in it. So I ordered new tie rod assemblies, boots and clamps and was just about to start it last night, when I've discovered leak in right strut.

Couple minutes ago, I was comparing heights between 528 and 540 and to my horror, right front strut on 540 is leaking as well. Both cars have right at 100k and struts were fine just a several weeks ago.

Euro, if you're reading this, I'm about to put a hit on you. The only problem is, I'm going to spend all my money on struts.

    Not so sure....

I was looking online at a non-essential, not outrageously expensive thing I wanted to treat myself to when my wife came home and handed me the fan key from the IHKA panel saying "I found this sitting on your sunglasses - I don't know what happened". This was before I found the evap large leak code an hour later.

I looked around online and key sets are $100 ($130 in Canada plus tax) but a very generous entrepreneur can sell me just the fan key for $40. Needless to say I canceled my "treat" purchase since other things keep going wrong. I have no other damage to any IHKA keys I can see although I know cracking isn't all that uncommon. I glued the post back into place with cyanoacrylate and then I rigged up an interior re-enforcement with JBWeld hoping to avoid buying a set of keys.

Of course if I bought a set of keys within the next couple of days I could ship them within the US to my parents in FL and save about $40. OTOH, if my superglue+JBWeld holds, I save $100.

Maybe the car is telling me that it's time to sell.... *gasp*

As I said, let's put a hit on Euro, before we go bankrupt. My fan speed key on my 540 broke off some time ago, but I just used little bit of 3M double sided tape in the middle and it's been holding.

By the way, you have Bilstein struts on front, don't you.
