what plugs and wires you guys run?

I'm getting ready to tune up my 88 (9/87) 735i and want to know what plugs and wires to buy.

And where is the best place to buy?

    Thanks!

I use the stock NGK plugs specified for the car. I'm still using the same OEM wires that came on the car when I bought it 15 years ago (pine marten beads and all). I have replaced one wire end, but they are designed to be user-serviceable that way. Talk to your BMW parts counter guy about it, and they will explain how it works. The important thing is to replace a wire end or a wire only if its resistance is greater than the specified value in the manual.

It's more important to replace air filters, spark plugs, caps, rotors, fuel filters, and the hydraulic tank filter during a tune-up than to worry about replacing wires.
