    Wow, that was fun & super interesting to watch

    What the heck is that gold car sitting behind it? Is that where the machined block is going into? Also, why would they use cast iron sleeves instead of high-temp cobalt steel sleeves?? I thought BMW had lots of problems some years ago trying to use cast iron sleeves like that in an aluminum block (or do I not understand that problem correctly)?

    Great link, though. Would be fun to see the dyno link too, when they get around to it.

    The copper head Cobra (m)

    I remember seeing a full length story about it maybe 6 months ago, Here is what I found, not much.

    Cast sleeves? Probably because thay are less expensive and easier to machine. Don't remember any problems with BMW using them, the 530 V8 and the E34 V8 did have problems with the nikasil (sp?) aluminum blocks and high sulfur American gas.

    wow they machined their own drill heads and machined their own sleeves!?
    i watched the video twice lol ive never seen anybody pick up an engine block like that, it looked like a fake movie prop but its a work of art.

    So is the copper and aluminum cobra supposed to last forever like the Delorean?
