I miss roadfly... BF is really horrible in terms
of reading, searching, following a tread, at least once a day I will get a server too busy message, Search is like a hit or miss, mostly miss as I can't read those "secret" codes anyway... etc. Overall experience is "HORRIBLE"
I hate that format. I miss the good talks and help. Not just on this E31 site, but almost all of them... E36 E46 E39 etc.
I can not get used to the BF no matter how I try. I can not search, the posts disappear from my view, its a complicated mess to me. I never even find my own posts ever !
just wanted to let it out here on RF... all that bashing and trouble... it is still superior !

Re: I miss roadfly... BF is really horrible in terms
RF went to he11 in a handbasket because the moderators did not exercise control efficiently and its too late to recover and return it to its former glory.
BF has taken over and doesnt take crap like we saw here over and over as the proactive Forum Moderators take control. Once one becomes used to the format over there it is easily navigated and search (IMHO) is far better than it was/is here.
Give BF a real chance and say hi to all the former RF regulars who now call BF home.

well, I miss wuffer forums...
Truth is, the E31 community is pretty small, so folks will gravitate to the place with the most activity. I look in both sites and try to help (even though I sometimes mess up royally - like my advice to Paul about his brake booster). It is unfortunate that no single source is perfect, but that's the nature of a "virtual society".Mark W in mid-MO

I'll have to admit....
...maybe because I'm comfy here, I like this board the best...although Tom's was great! The scourge has seemed to have calmed down and hopefully it'll stay that way. Matt

Re: I'll have to admit....
I agree. As long as there is content and no incessant arguing, this is the place I am most comfortable. BF tends to have lots of me-to's, +1's and repeats of what was JUST posted because (I think) the number of posts by an individual are predominately displayed and some folks like a big number. A post with useless content counts the same as an informative one.
There are however some members who generously dole out good information whenever they can.
Tony
Matt - I see you've added an Isetta to your stable. Very cool!

Hate to burst your bubble mate but this place is pretty DEAD if you ask me. And I am sure you have few folks to thank for that. Most likely bimmeforums will die a slow death since some of the folks and their hidden agendas moved across. I hate to break it to you mate :)

Seems like lots of boards are not like they used
to be. Other groups I attend are the same as here, less robust than before. I assume that people are spending time on Facebook and Twitter instead, which I suppose is the evolution of this type of forum and earlier listserv/bulletin board groups.
Or maybe these cars have just stopped having problems?

Then why respond?
Bill, trolls love nothing better than stir up a ****storm. We're all smart enough to pick out the posting hostname and figure it out. And most of us have the self-discipline to just let the troll hang there dangling. In fact, some times that makes much more of a statement than any sort of response.
What drove the old-timers away wasn't the trolls. It was the regulars always trying to get in the last word to these silly postings instead of letting it roll down and be forgotten.

Re: I miss roadfly... BF is really horrible in terms
I miss RF too but I agree with Tom - BF isn't all that bad, the search function is decent and I like how it automatically subscribes you to any updates for posts you contribute to. I could never figure out how to make RF do that.
But in the end, it's the community that matters and it's just as active over there as it was for RF back in 03, 04, and 05.
Any RF regulars here going to the wine tour in a couple weeks?
