notice mentioned '07 thru '10 models...
with N54 twin-turbo engines.
"BMW will repair your vehicle free of charge for parts and labor. ...BMW center will inspect and replace (if required) the high-pressure fuel pump (including the low-pressure fuel sensor) and/or will reprogram your vehicle's engine control unit. ...other fuel system components may be inspected and replaced, if required."
Since I became aware of this problem I haven't taken my 335i on a long trip(over 30 miles)...nor will I until the fuel pump is replaced. If they do not replace the pump when I take it in then that makes me feel much better about soon dumping it for a VW Golf. SAD.

not in a long time...most owners were having
issues with a fair amount of miles...over 20K. But then some started having failures within months of delivery...then some were having multiple failures. I was holding out for a recall that never came and there's no garantee that the pump will get replaced with this recall. If they don't replace mine I'm going to be a pissed MFer.
It's Donna's car and we took it on several long trips when it was young; DC/Maryland, Deleware, Mtns of VA and NC, Atlanta, SC. But I decided not to take it on anymore long trips about 1-1/2 years ago. I didn't want to get stranded anywhere with a sick wife and a 9 yr old kid. We've taken the Audi on every long run since we've had it.
