    Mustang Update:

The 2011 the sales guy had mentioned (at another dealer) turns out to have been already sold. Only took the other dealership 9 days to return a freakin' phone call about the car....

He located another one that is exactly how I would want it but it has a back-up camera on it. I would not have ordered that ($300 option) but I'll take it if it is available. He's trying to get confirmation on this car as well (fukkers just do NOT call back apparently).

Basically, that 2011 has to make it to his store this week (if it is available) or I go in and spec out and order a 2012. I have a $750 coupon for a 2011 that expires this Sunday so that is why I'm waiting this week to see if the 2011 is going to happen.

    THIS JUST IN!!!:

Just got off the phone with him. The car IS available. It is located just south of New Jersey. If I give him the word, he might be able to have the car up here tomorrow...it will have 300-400 miles on it from the journey and he wants to know if I'm OK with that.

    Thoughts?

    Re: Mustang Update:

Oh, don't even get me started on these dealers. They're all idiots. And then they wonder why most of them starve. I'd be rich if I had a dollar for every time I ended up having to call one of them back because they failed to ever get back with me. Hate 'em with a passion. Dealing with those idiots always seems to negate at least a certain amount of the excitement of buying a new ride.

Somebody here got a new GT; it's in the garage today. It's blue (not sure 'which' blue if it's offered in more than one shade), and with those stripes it looks soooo good. I like the wheels he got on this too, much nicer than I've seen on the cars I've seen on the lots. Still has paper license plates so I'm guessing they may have picked it up this weekend.

Probably no problem with that, but

if it were me, and considering it's a new car, I'd probably pay the $300-$400 to have it trucked down.

I mean, God knows what could happen to the car coming thru joisey.

Right. But I'm under no obligation.

They're swapping cars (ie. driving one down, bringing this one back).

I haven't put a deposit down or anything yet. So, if there is ANYTHING wrong with the car when I look at it, no deal.

I spoke with the salesguy and told him to make sure whomever was driving it to take it easy with her. He laughed and said the guy they use is in his 60's and will absolutely take it easy. ;)

(sounds like "owned by a little, old lady who only drove it on weekends on her way to church and back")

    ;)

    We'll see!!!!

LOL! Actually had a decent excuse...

The dealership where this car is was undergoing a remodeling and simply wasn't taking ANY "swap" calls. I guess things are settled now and they just got back to him today. Not sure if that was because the owner of my dealership called or what....

"60's and will absolutely take it easy"

Much better. Now all you have to worry about is one of his old acid trips kicking back in as he's doing 60 into that sweeping hairpin at Exit 2. lol

Hey...I'm the driver of the car.............

I know that it has to be broken-in, so I'll drive it on the highway only in 2nd gear, and no more than 6800 rpms. Hopefully the tires are the same size all around, as the rears might have a few more miles on them from all the burnouts...he he.
