Preemptive exodus?
Maybe people have looked at the new vB board and don't think that they will have the same experience as the current lounge, so they have packed up and headed off to other pastures.
Just guessin'.

Hey, on a side note - you ever consider going
into the knife making business?
* We all know how difficult it is pretending to know everything about everything, so we at Friends of Frank Friendly Threads (FFFT) encourage everyone to help Frank feign mastery of all topics, saving him time to post more great content.
So please, if you plan to post about anything Frank has yet to pretend to be an expert on, do what we at the FFFT do, and use the insert link function above, to save Frank some time on Google, so he can continue to know it all!

I was in the market for a custom folder and
some of the custom stuff is very nice, and commands big bucks. There are droves of nuts who will beg you to make them knives, but them and stick them in their safe.
My point was, with your talent, and the market that can't get enough, it may be something to consider...

stick to fixed blades. folders are tough to make
a name for yourself, not to mention the locking mechanisms are patented.
get a distinctive style of your own and people will buy your knives as fast as you can make them. it's crazy how much they blindly spend! you don't even have to have a good heat treat, since most of these guys will just be cutting cheese with it. lol. seriously, at $200-$500 a piece or more, you can knock out 10 of these a month while drinking beer easy.

were you following the dpx gear/hest folder?
after a flamefest, the owner posted personal info of a troll and his wife and ended up getting kicked out of the forum. it was similar to dls except this one happened in a matter of days (and tens of thousands of potential sales lost) instead of years. lol.
