Dim license plate light

Any guesses why the Driver side license plate light is dim? Checked the connection and it seems OK - don't see any worn wires. Swapped the two light housings and it remains dim on the Driver side so it's not the housing assembly or bulb. Voltage somewhat low on that side (11.1 v vs. 11.7 or so on the passenger side) Another queertron perhaps?

Did you swap the plastic lens covers also? The driver's side may be less transparent than the other.

No, but I will re-look at that. They appeared to be equally transparent. Thanks for the suggestion

You have a high resistance path to the bulb, most likely chafed wiring or a corroded ground. Did you examine under the protective rubber sheath at the trunk hinge?
