Re: Very Nice!...
If your gonna track it, you definitly want to do re-do the whole cooling system. Go with the FULL zionsville kit. Then your gonna need some brake upgrades cause your gonna go through a set of pads and rotors in hours!

Re: Very Nice!...
Yes you will learn the cooling system is the worst part about these engines. Expect cooling leaks at LEAST once a year if you don't change everything at once.
First 6 months water pump leaked.
12months in the expansion tank bursted on me.
14 months in a hose bursted clean off the plastic fitting.
16 months in another hose leaked so i changed all of them.
NOW im looking at a valley pan gasket job in the weeks to come. leaking bad..
If i knew then what i know now, I would of done the zionsville conversion, all hoses and valley pan all at one shot.
I knew the cooling system issues when i was shopping for an e39 but didn't think it was that bad.
But when all is well HANDS DOWN a e39 540 is a wet dream to drive. especially an 03 like yours

Buy some new Depo lenses, I got some smoked ones a bunch of years ago and then put the Xpel film on them. They look 98% new after all these years and miles. Think I paid about $120 for both.
Getting your old lenses off an 03 will not be an easy task, heat will be required to loosen the glue.
Euro, was it you that I sent my old Hella lenses too? Did you put them on?
