Oh I get it just fine...I'm just not excited by it
Why would I want to plug my phone into my TV to transmit videos when I can do it wirelessly? I wouldn't. And what's so exciting about using the TV and phone for web browsing? TV-based web browsing has been out for more than 5 years...I could do that on the PS3 if I wanted, but I don't.
And I certainly wouldn't want to turn my laptop into a scrap heap when I could just plug it in with a cable...as I've been doing with my iPhone for years. If you actually watched the video on the link you posted, you'd see a guy tear down his laptop into almost the bare elements in order to save a few Thai monopoly bucks on the laptop dock...I just don't see many people doing that and I'm not sure why you're so excited about it.
