So, were there any signs or warnings
for lilly white American's to watch their backsides?
Found out one of the contractor's here is from that way and who still has family over there, and he said that American's and British, even Aussie's, need to be careful about where they go and when.

Everywhere I went they had security and I went
with locals. Took a few days to feel comfortable. The hotel has big barriers and bomb sniffing dogs. Even the hotel transports get searched every time you enter.
It's mainly the southern islands that have a lot of extremists - I wouldn't go there for sure. I wouldn't recommend going wandering about by yourself, that's for sure.

some more pictures
I was working a lot - and working overnight, so not a whole lot of time to get pics. Did take a weekend trip to Corregidor Island - pretty fascinating history there. A lot of WWII action.
picture from the pool balcony:

skyline - no lack of development in progress

Manila Bay

Bunch from Corregidor

During WWII this was the largest barracks in the world - now the monkeys own the place

View of the barracks from the lighthouse - looking back towards Bataan, the sight of the infamous death march

Lighthouse:

The war memorial - the white "table" is set so that the sun shines directly on it at noon on May 6.

Big guns - the Americans pulled the breeches off and threw then in the ocean when their defeat was imminent

The hospital - supposedly very haunted:

And I have a bunch more - that show the caldera of the extinct volcano (last erupted ~800,000 years ago) and the tunnels where George Moore (an AGGIE - WHOOP!) had his headquarters and where Macarthur was prior to giving his "I shall return" speech (it took him quite a while to actually return). Finally many Japanese solders committed seppuku (usually laying on their own grenades) as the Americans retook the island.

see the girl in the white shirt in this pic?
her skirt was so short that you could *almost* see her pooper when she went up stairs.
She was there with a fat obnoxious guy in his late 60's. He introduced her as his "girlfriend". She didn't seem to be having a great time.
Saw a lot of that shyt there. Some nice advisories to help "stop sex tourism" all over the place...and on boarding passes.
