Thread: throttle delay
03-09-2011 01:46 PM #1
I've got a 1999 328i with manual trans. When I put in the clutch before shifting, there is a delay in the throttle before it drops off so the it makes it sound like my foot is still on the gas after the clutch is in. To say it a little differently, there is a little spike in the rpm when I put in the clutch even though my foot is not on the gas. It is annoying. I've had a number of manual trans BMW's and have never run into this before. Could it be a throttle position sensor or a sticking throttle valve? I've had the car for about 2 years and it has around 160K. It runs very well and the clutch seems okay.
