"baby" turn 14
So my baby turns 14 this month and it got me thinking about all the miles/smiles/sun/fun/friends/convoys/homecomings. So first a big thank you to all that ever waved back/smiled/responded to a request for help/offered suggestions/sent a prayer my way while battling cancer in '98. I'm figuring after 14 years she is stuck with me as long as I can buy gas to feed her and parts to keep her running.
Out of curiosity, how many original owners of their first Z3 are still around?

Another 14 year old....
Though I'm the second owner - owner #1 kept it for less than a year, then traded it (1.9L) in for a 2.8L when they first came out. I wandered along a few months later, took it in and with a few classy upgrades have made it the nicest '97 BMW Z3 1.9 in Montreal Blau in captivity...
And only 51K miles....

But I have bogarted her since 99 and saved her from a life of boredom in Kalifornia... and personally put on almost 300,000 miles...

Mine turns 14 this month...
...but I'm the third owner. I bought the TexZan in August of 2000, though, so it's really been mine for almost all of its life.

I should have added.....
Mine was a repo at the credit union. I was the high bidder by $20 and took her home when she was 1 1/2 years old in Sept 1997. She had 9300 miles then, she now has 198k. Not close to Z3BigDaddy, but getting there.

One of the last ones to the party.....
My 2002 3.0 was made just for me. I picked it up on 4/15/2002 with all of 14 miles on it. I haven't been driving it as much as I want to these days, but I did take it to Vegas, Maine, Florida and a few Homecomings and a Zfest.
I'd keep playing! I don't think the heavy stuff will be coming down for quite a while!

Re: baby turn 14
I still have my August '96 build Z3. It was delivered to us in Germany on Veteran's Day 1996 - I was deployed to Bosnia at the time so Lynn sent me pictures. I returned to Germany in February '97 and shipped that Z3 back to the US. SHe's still running strong.
