    How many miles should a 2000 V8 last

    Just checking for a friend who's looking at a 2001 740i, his 1st BMW.

    He's mostly asking how much more to expect from a car with 102,000 miles.I'm a straight six guy and they wonderful but I'm not up on the 8's.What kind of general problems pop up?

    Normal stuff. Intake manifold gaskets, oil

    separator, valley pan gasket, cam sensor, radiator, coolant reservoir.
    Some of that may already have been done. 100k is not much on these engines if they are properly serviced.
