Xenon Bulb ???
Can a xenon bulb be "intermittantly" failing?
I thought if a lamp went bad.....the lamp is bad?? can a xenon be "going" bad

Yes
Sometimes, a xenon bulb dies slowly, displaying erratic behavior like intermittent ignition failure or ramdonly extinguishing while burning steady-state. Or the color starts to shift towards green, pink or blue.
Same applies to the ballast (driver); intermittent bad contacts or solder joints can cause random malfunctioning.
