    O2 sensors behind cats

1998 528i, throwing codes for both rear O2 sensors no activity detected. Car has 112,000 miles. Is it odd that both went out at same time (one may have gone first- check engine has been on for awhile, due to gas tank vent not working correctly). Also, how hard to replace- just install, and computer will then see them? (Obviously will then have to get check engine reset). Have read in old posts- no discussion on technique to replace- Thanks

Pretty easy to change, remove plastic covers that hold sensor connectors up to the body, two 10mm plastic nuts. Unplug connectors and then unscrew O2 sensors.

    Thanks Jim

Thanks- is it unusual that both would be out at this mileage? I am the 3rd owner- owned it since 80k.
