    X5 E53 transmission fluid dramas

I have a 2003 3.0 D sport with a GM transmission. It has started to jump up and down geras at around 40 MPH and appears to be a little sluggish. I am going to change the transmission fluid and filter if I could only get a definitive answer on which fluid to use as I have had contradicting info.

The gearbox has a plate with this info
    Part no 96024225
    3GXW
    P29

    Sump no 83220026922

    Please share any knowlage !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know about this specific model, but the Bentley lists 3 brands, Texaco, Esso and Shell. The Texaco is:
    ETL 8072 B, 83-22-0-403-249, A5S - 390R

I assume each brand has a cross match. All are synthetic.
