My baby is clean and looking pretty good!

First wash of 2011 yesterday plus nice long drive out east. Still not as nice as spring can be but so much better than winter!

Almost 8 years since the dealer said to us "You'll enjoy this car for a year or two and then the fad will be over". WRONG! :)

Now if I could just convince my wife to say OK to a real long drive - say a week away from home... :(

PS - Just got back from New Zealand - What a beautiful country!!!

These cars are wonderful on longer trips. My wife and I did a 2 week Texas trip from NC last year and we have also done week long trips to the Outer Banks and Cape Cod. Yeah, you can't bring all the clothes you would like but an extra wash or two along the way is not that big a deal to enjoy a nice trip in a roadster. Unless she hates travelling, keep trying to talk her into it.
By the way, agree about New Zealand. We went to Auckland and Rotorua and other points on the north island. Never made it to the south island.

We did go to Virginia Beach one year, with a stop over in Atlantic City (we are on Long Island). That was great except for three things:
    1. When we got to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge it was so overcast with the remnants of Tropical Storm Andrew we couldn't see anything other than the roadway.
    2. When we got to Virginia Beach the main road along the shoreline had been flooded over so we had to divert to side roads. At one point we came up to a HUGE puddle - SUVs were driving through it with water up to the doors! No way the little bug is swimming through that so we cut across a grass island / front lawn and diverted to a section of the main road from which the flooding had receded.
    3. Entering the water the next day the remnants of Andrew knocked me down and the sea swallowed up my glasses! Fortunately we found a one-hour eyeglass store at the mall and had my local shop fax them the prescription. Several hundred dollars later I was able to give my wife back her reading glasses and drive the bug with a higher degree of certainty! :)

PS - Oh yeah, reason #4 - The Borgata (in AC) kept our money! :)

You can't post a headline like that without pictures! It should be a crime :-)

We did a week CAMPING with the Z about 7 years ago through Acadia National Park and New England. We had the trunk stuffed but it worked out and we had a blast.

We also went to the Taj about a year ago in AC (not in the Z3, though...no way I'm leaving it in a casino garage for two nights). If we hadn't spent so much on the hotel room and the splurge at the day spa, we would have taken THEIR money. Instead, we came close to breaking even. Not bad when you consider we expected to pay for it all :-)
