    leatherette quality 330Ci cabrio

Happy New Owner of low mile 330Ci convertible, 6-spd.

Car is immaculate, no dings, scratches, brake dust etc. Interior is extremely clean. However for a 37k mile car that was driven carefully, I'm wondering about what appears to be excessive wear (wear through, loss of color) on the driver's seat side bolsters (non-sport seats).

Haven't owned a BMW in 10 years, and the four I previously owned (two e28s, a Z3 and an MZ3) all had leather or cloth (German Spec 528i), so I have no experience with the leatherette.

    Is this common?

No, not at 37k. However, I would look at it carefully to make sure that perhaps it is a result of using cleaners to remain a stain.
