    Off Topic (Ferrari Sighting)

I know it's almost blasphemy, but I'm not a fan of football, and the wifey was looking for a quick trip away from home for a couple of days, so we went to San Diego Sunday morning, returning home Monday afternoon. Sunday afternoon we were reading, sitting above the beach in La Jolla, when I heard an unusual engine note slowly passing behind me. I turned to see what it was and almost fell off the bench.

A guy in a 458 Italia was cruising through, looking for a parking space and I was falling all over myself trying to find my camera. Having no luck, I pulled out my phone, but the car was slowly leaving the area. I took a shot, but all I got was the left taillight an a small portion of the rear fascia between the parked cars.

I've been in deep lust for the 458 Italia for years, having it's pix on my computer *** the screensaver at work for years. I never thought I'd see one in reality, but shortly after seeing this red beauty, as we were leaving La Jolla, I stumbled upon Ferrari of San Diego just a few blocks from the beach, and there in the picture windows, were several 458's, along with other models... I was awestruck, but my wife was just questioning my grip on reality.

Those are Grocery Getters in La Jolla.

If San Diego is a reasonable drive for you then the Concourso Italiano and the San Diego Concours d'Elegance are well worth the time. The La Jolla Concours will be 01-April. There will be one in Rancho Mirage 24-Feb. You're sure to get your Ferrari fix taken care of at those!

Thanks for the link, everyone should click on the link to watch them build at 458 engine.
And if you are ever in Boston at the beginning of August there is always Italian Car Day at the Museum of Transportation.
Lots of red heads there. Even an Enzo a few years ago.
    Just a few mods.
If it ain't broken make it better and quicker!

I'll have to dig up my photo of an F40 parked curbside at the Palm Springs vintage races WITH A SIMPLE CLUB ON THE STEERING WHEEL. We got a good laugh out of that.
