Any gremlins on 2006/2007 convertible 650i?
Hi, I just read through the titles of 3 or 4 pages of the latest posts on this board and I am pleasantly surprised to see that there arent many posts regarding issues with the 650i. I am surprised because I have owned an X5 since it rolled off the lot and although I love the car, there's always something going wrong on it...
On the X5 we had numerous issues. Ranging from the trivial such as peeling door handles to more serious one like failing camshaft sensors, oil housing gaskets, cracked radiator expansion tanks, etc...
Anyhow, are there any gremlins on the 650i? I am looking to purchase a 2007 or 2006 model sometime soon.
This would be my first used car. I do most of the maintenance and repairs on my cars, so I am not afraid of getting a little oil on my hands, but I enjoy driving the car more than being under the hood, if you know what I mean.
Anyhow, I guess what I am asking is: how reliable has the 650i been so far? Anything to watch out for on the convertible model? Are the regular maintenance items something that can be a DIY (e.g. oil changes, brake service) or is dealer involvement required due to the fact that the car seems to be heavily dependent on electronics? etc...
