    Front End / Suspension....need advice

I recently removed and replace the following: sway bar links, tie rods and lower control arms for both drivers side and passenger side fronts. I didn't get around to replacing the upper control arms. are these any more or less difficult than the lower control arms? are any special tools required? also....i am looking to remove/replace the idler arm. anything i should know on this? thanks.

You should have just done these altogether. You basically have to do the same thing you did when replacing the lower arms. No special tool, but a long pry bar will help you hold the nut on the bushing side while you're trying to torque it down. Idler arm is easy, but you have to remove heat shields that are in the way. I just did this to my 1995 540i. Pretty easy job overall.
