05 530i with 201,000 miles needs $4k in repairs - do I fix it or let it go?

The title pretty much sums up the situation - my 05 530i has serviced me well, but needs significant work if I intend to keep it for a while longer. In addition to new plugs and at least one coil, there are hose leaks, an oil leak, and bushings/tie rods that all need attention.

My dilemma is this - do I proceed with the repairs, or just go ahead and get myself the '13 CPO 535i I have my eye on?

I'm not so keen on spending $30k plus on the new ride, but I also don't want to sink $4k into a car that may blow a transmission (still likely original) and/or require significant engine work on short notice.

Seeking input and thoughts, and "what would you do in a similar situation?" type feedback. Car has been maintained well and dealer serviced.

    Thanks!

    B

I think it really depends on what it really needs and how much work you are willing or able to do yourself. I had a list of a $2500 or repairs and I did it all myself for about $300. But I also had a spare car I could use while its laid up.
