E3, E9, E12 - PSP (power steering pump) - REBUILD SERVICE
Hi Fellow Forum Members,
I have been working on repairing and rebuilding BMW parts for the last 5 years.
I started with Hydraulic Brake Servo Boosters,
I then added the e23, e24 SLS pump rebuild (self leveling suspension).
And 3 years ago started rebuilding PSP's (power steering pumps).
I also am Rebuilding e3, e9, e12, PSP pumps.
There are three basic types of PSP's for the e3,e9,e12, two are Cast Iron, and one is Aluminum. All 3 are 1 piece castings.
1. The early (CI) ZF - PSP pump has 2 bearings, one is a ball bearing & one is a needle bearing. (L photo)
2. And the later (CI) ZF - PSP pump has only one ball bearing. (M photo)
3. And the newer (ALUM) ZF - PSP is Aluminum, and does not have a bearing (R photo)
