    1995 remove instrument panel

Can I remove it without removing steering wheel? What is the torx size for removing air bag?

just loosen the Steering column so that you can push it down, this will allow you to remove it easily.
Its easier to take the wheel off than to lower the steering collumn. Two torx screws on the back side of the steering wheel to take the air bag off, then one bolt holding the steering wheel on. Also, make sure you un hook your battery. Its a 10 minute job to replace bulbs in an e34 start to finish.

If you'r careful, you can unhook the battery, and get the cluster out without dropping the collum or taking of the steering wheel. Just turn the wheel and you take the cluster to the left, but watch dragging it over the blinker switch. Its tricky, but can be done.

Thanks Shogun. Finally getting around to the job; The car was stored for the winter in unheated garage so I was in no hurry. Do you know what bulb the odometer uses? Part number and brand would be useful.
