Could This Be Part of the Rubber Control Bushing (Any Cause For Concern?)

Before putting the '97 528i away for the winter, I found a small piece of rubber under one of the front wheels.
In looking it over, it looks like it might be the rubber "surrounding" of the front control bushing.

Is this anything that would be considered "normal" over the 20 years of the 528i? The car only has about
    62,000 actual miles on it.

Has anyone else experienced finding a piece of rubber like this on their driveway, or elsewhere?
Any recommended steps, as this doesn't seem to affect the steering of the car.

Attached is the piece of the rubber I found, and a reference photo of the front control bushing.

Old post from Dec, did you find where it came from?
If it's not from the control arm it could be from the sway bar bushing.
    Just a few mods.
If it ain't broken make it better and quicker!
