    Trunk cavity

I have an early 96 Z3 (Manufactured 03.96), anyway in the trunk cavity it has this protruded panel behind the driver's seat, I removed
some of the panel's support rivets to see what it was behind, what I saw was an electronic distribution box (module?) and lots of wires
surrounding the panel. No idea what it is for, anyone out there have a hint?

To be fair I'm very familiar with the later 96 Z3 due to I own since new an almost identical twin sibling, except the battery is in the trunk,
spear tire is lower in the trunk and no protrude trunk panels.

Have you checked with realoem.com to see if you can find it?

Yes, also with BMW Electric Troubleshooting Manual and the BMW Z3 Roadster Service Manual.

The bottom line I have 3 choices ; is an Amplifier, Central Locking System Module, or a Subwoofer Amplifier Module.

What I'm going to do is remove all the panels and really confirm the P/N and how many receptacles the Amplifier/Module has, I was hoping someone would have the answer so I don't have to remove all those panels.

    Thanks, CC

The panels are not that hard to remove. I have had mine in/out several times.
