    SOCAL? Heated mirrors????

I live in Toronto, and I don't have them on the '97 328is. I DO have the winter package which includes such things such as heated seats, headlamp washers, and heated washer bottle, but no heated mirrors.

I called BMW Canada some time ago to ask if they had heated mirrors on the E36's, and they told me that they NEVER offered that on the Canadian models. I imagine, the US models don't even have the stuff I've just listed, never mind the heated mirrors.

Normally, the heated mirrors would come with a special switch, just like the heated seats do. Someone said long time ago that the mirrors heat automatically when the temps drop below 3C, but that's BS according to BMW Canada.

    hey saeed....

i dont think you have heated mirrors. I think usually it would come if you have heated seats.

i know on my yukon there's the little defroster symbol on the mirror, but im not sure if its the same for BMW. But nevertheless it should have a button to turn on the heated mirrors.

im in the same boat. No heated mirrors for me either.

    =(

    2 ways to tell (m)

hey saeed 1 way is to touch them and see if they are warm ... the other way is to pop off the mirror glass or peek underneath it if a wire is attached to the back of the glass, they're heated

Heated mirrors are on all the time ++

    Try this:

Turn on the ignition, and wait a few minutes.
The mirror will feel warm if it's heated.

It doesn't matter if the lights are on, or if the engine is running.

There's a big difference in temperature.
I know because I have one mirror that heats, and one that doesn't.

Should come on with heated rear window only

My washer jets are heated too - you can see them on a frost morning defrosting a circle around the nozzles on the bonnet.

I wouldnt think they are on all the time though -theyd burn out.
