Whatever you do... don't use Progressive. Actual quote from my Progressive rep after I caught one of his many 'mistakes' in our claim:

"Oh you caught that one... you're good."

    Just don't get GEICO (m)

They give free radar detectors to police officers. Geico is the enemy.

    I've heard the same thing...

...that when you get your statement, it's often higher than what they quoted you.

..unfortunately, I can't find anybody else that will insure the motorcycle I'm about to buy.. so I'll probably have to go with them.

    YES!! (more)

A few years back, Car and Driver did an "investigative report"-type thing on GEICO. They are seriously slimy. Their equipment "donations" are targeted to jurisdictions with the highest percentages of their policyholders. The idea is to increase the likelihood that a policyholder gets a ticket and then they raise the rates through the roof. Personally, I've had a friend get dropped by GEICO for two accidents in a month, neither her their fault (per the police reports) because she was a "high risk". Ridiculous. I'll look for the article at caranddriver.com (they have archives going waaayy back).

    After checking out their site,

I don't think I can support them. While I am fully behind getting the cops off our backs; I am fully AGAINST any rollback of emmissions regulations and inspections. Looks like I'm only 50/50 with their platform; I'll think about it.

Try AMICA in TX....I have USAA, and they get (M)

closest to USAA....actually they have really low rates, and they do not split the comp and collision soverages, so for instance, your coverage is 300K, not 100/300/100...so basically if you get in a major accident with one person, they will pay out all 300K to that person instead of covering only 100k per car per accident up to a total of 300K...get it? I thought it was pretty good, but I stuck with USAA b/c of amazing cust svc, plus I have other svcs with them.
