    325i hitting rev limiter like prob at 4000rpm?????

    help any ideas why its acting this way. i left it for a week and now its acting up any ideas. u step on the throtle and it revs up to 4000 and then acts like its hitting a rev limiter any ideas what may be causing it??? thanks all

    Have you

    Have you been messing with your ignition timing? If so you might have adjusted the mass air meter as well to get more fuel? If its adjusted the wrong way it will detonate, thats when there isn't enough fuel. If you haven't touched any of this your maf might be bad.

    This may help

    Check for the TPS or its wire harness for a short circuit. If the ECU reads that the TB is closed and the engine is gainning RPMs, it will limit the engine PRMs. The wires are RD/WT fot the power supply to the TPS and BW/BU that for the closed TB switch in the TPS.
