Re: Can BMW use Nav as security, like LoJack??
My guess would be no, since I don't believe the Nav system has any kind of transmitter. It only receives GPS signals.
LoJack transmits a signal once it's activated (once you call the Police and report it) so that the tracking device can "listen" for it and track it down.
Is there a way BMW could use your navigation system like lojack in case your car is stolen?????

It can with the CPT-8000
In the install instructions for the phone it mentions that on vehicles with the navigation system function, the phone also functions as a "Mayday" device with automatic emergency calls on airbag activation and on theft alarm activation with vehicle location transmission. It will transmit all your information to BMW if any of these situations arise, so BMW can then call the appropriate authorities. I haven't had any of these situtions happen so I don't know if it is really true.
