    87-88 535is wanted

    I'm new to the board and in the market for a very clean 535is in very good to excellent condition. (Preferably 87-88 w/stdr. Trans No white extr.)
    I recently saw an ad on Roadfly Classifieds from a gentleman in PA who is selling his metallic Blue/Pearl beige interior. The member name is otwohr.
    Does anyone know him? Has the car sold? I would like to contact him personally about the car. I have been unsuccessful in my e-mail attempts. Can anyone help? If so, I can be reached at:

    He was at Lime Rock this weekend so he may be off-line or working on his track 2002.

    My wife and I test drove the car and did love it but it was not a good fit for us. We have an '88 535ia we use when our 2 seater '99 M Coupe stays in the garage (rain, snow, 3 or more people...). We had the M Coupe for sale so we were looking to upgrade the 535. But, we decided to keep the M Coupe. This 535is deserves to be a garage queen, not a winter beater.

    Test drive results:
    The 535is engine is very strong, sport suspension is completely upgraded. He did a lot of suspension work to get rid of the E28 shimmy. Brakes are straight and true. Shifts great. Wheels are 100% perfect - E34 upgraded wheels. Tires ride true and are evenly worn. The car is beautiful. Exterior is 97/100 - 2 tiny dings, the plastic trim is well treated but on closeup you can see it is just a little aged, it is 15 years old after all. Paint and interior is just incredible - they look brand new. Has a 7 series head unit. Engine bay is spotless. Dennis has all the service/maintenance records for the car.

    It is a heck of a car and will make someone very happy. He has a Mini Cooper coming in so he has to sell the 535is.

    I have a red 87 535is, in really nice condition. The car is great. Just wondering how much you're looking for.

    Hi Ed. I recognized your name from the CSR. I bought the car you mention a couple of weekends ago - it took me a few months to find the right one. Be patient - it's not as bad as coupe shopping, but close.
