Re: 86' 944 fender removal
Removal of the fender is really quire easy, I have a 1986NA.
First, take off the wheel of the fender and remove the inner liner. Either leave the car up or put the wheel back on and lower.
Secondly, cut the putty at the seam of the fender and engine compartment. Do not take any bolts out prior as this is difficult and the bolts will hold the fender in place.
Third remove the bolts in the lower back area of the fender near the passenger compartment.
Forth remove the bolts from the front support braces in the wheel well by the side markers.
Fifth, remove the bolts from the top.
If the fender soes not come loose, check the seam to make sure it is cut.
Reverse the order for installation and make sure you use a good seam putty like Wurth when installing.
