loosing motor oil ~ 1/2 quart every 2000 miles

its been like this for a while. I don't see any oil spots on my garage floor, but every now and then I have to add 1/2 to 1 quart of oil. My '98M3 has about 77,000 miles. NE1 else running into this issue?

I usually check the oil level after I just turned off the engine. It this the right time to check or do I have to wait until all the oil comes back down to the pan? Or do I check it when the engine is on?

Totally within normal spec's for oil consumption..

the only car to my knowledge you check the oil level when it is running is a air cooled 911. You are doing it correctly.

You will burn more oil the harder you run your car, by the way. Just keep checking it on a regular basis.
