Anyone club racing in Texas ?

    Looking at the
    <a href="http://www.texasscca.org/results.html">SCCA Regional Listings</a>, I'd say not. Bummer.

I guess if I take my M3 racing, I'd have to do it against Camaros and Mustangs.

SCCA is independent from BMWCCA CR

Usually, Club Races are only listed on the National BMWCCA website or in chapter websites.

Also, Club Races are often held in conjunction with driver schools, where you do not want to have too many visitors for safety and insurance reasons. Hence the fact that Club Races are not widely advertized.

    Glad you explained it! >>

There may be a race missing from the national calendar (I think there's one at TWS in november ?) but otherwise it seems to be the best list.
I hadn't looked there and thought there was just the march TWS race and the OFest race this year, so I was looking at SCCA thinking there must be somebody driving around in circles around here!

Re: Anyone club racing in Texas ?

Camaro and Late model firebird are fast expeccialy the very well prepared one. They put the Auburn diff and a cheat up shock in and they are ready to go.
MUstang, although the guy won the runoffs two years ago they are really not that quick.
M3 are very good in T2. TC Kline ran one after he decided his 330 was not quick enough.
S2000 are very quick cars. Neal Sapp holds the record at VIR and I saw one that was very quick at Summit.
Boxter S very quick expeccialy in the right hands.
If you run regionals I don't think you will have many problems. Just watch out for the AS cars if they run in your group. They don't really care about body damage. If you go National, try to hook up with a good team and learn all the tricks. There are alot of legal cheats that you can do to make your car competitive. Other than that just go out and have fun. I had more fun in SCCA than in BMWCCA but since I do not race in your same region the same cannot be true. The Houston chapter may have great events going on. Good luck

Re: Anyone club racing in Texas ?

there are plenty of club racers in Texas -- just not very many BMWs doing SCCA. BMW CCA CR provides a generally better/more-competitive venue for BMWs than SCCA does. there's a BMW club race coming up in a couple of weeks at Hallet, and then of course the O'fest race at TWS in October....
