    Brake cleaner? Anti-squeal compound?

When people are changing pads, do they use brake cleaner and anti-squeal compounds?

If so, what types/places to purchase?

    Thx

Yes to both - I prefer synthetic caliper grease -

any AutoZone, (or similar) has these things....

CRC is one manufacturer of grease - brake cleaner, well, just pick one...

    Cheers,
    Keith

When i changed the pads last time

I just used some disc brake quiet just to bed them in because they squeeled like a little piggy w/o it during bedding :)

    nah

get dirty, half the fun, I stick it on nice and think and spread it around with a finger - makes an ungodly mess but rubs right off after it dries for about a minute - just don't get it on your clothing - takes serious effort to get out :-P

CRC specifies the brake disc quiet for.....

older pads without the insulator shim - they also have a spray on type. CRC specifies the synthetic caliper grease between the pad and the brake piston for newer pads that come with the shim that is supposed to dampen noise.

Here - Look for this at AutoZone (go there -

don't just look on the web).....

    Here is the caliper grease

    CRC BRAKE CALIPER SYNTHETIC GREASE

The red one above is just as good, but this one is thicker and is black. 4 small tubes (two tubes to a pack) will do an M3 w/ grease to spare.

    Here is the cleaner

    CRC BRAKE CLEANER

Just pick one - really, it isn't that important....

    Regards,
    Keith
