Spoiler

I'm waiting to hear what happened. Billy got below 1:09 in practice and while everyone else took a little more off for qualifying, he went the other way. I've got some feeling that I don't want to start here, but the constant adding of weight to the M3 has made it very difficult for them to keep the car at the front. I'm not referring to the rewards weight.
2002 AW/IR M3/SMG

    spoiler

    smt.

A very disappointing end to the 2003 SWC GT season for BMW fans. I hope that PTG returns for another go at it next year. Don't know if Mr. Milner is really interested or not. I suppose it depends on what BMW wants to do. At least Auberlen and BMW won the TC championships. He must have been p.o.-ed after the GT race before the TC race in Puerto Rico as he drove to victory.

Overall a pretty disappointing year for BMW in motorsports with the F1 let down. They are doing well in ETCC. I'll have to start watching SPEED's coverage of that series.

Maybe I'll see you at the PTG open house this winter.

    cheers,

    Re: spoiler

One can take the viewpoint that the Champion team did a better job of collecting points while not actually winning until the very end. Building up some awards weight, but not getting the additional weight that the SCCA put on the M3. The were obviously fast with a twin turbo V8 and they struggled with tires because the car is heavy. The reality (my thoughts) was that they just kind of got by, not calling attention to themselves, sort of seemed like they were hampered by this overweight car with a very powerful engine. And they won the last two races. I don't understand why Bill didn't get weight removed after finishing 25th at RA? I thought that some rewards weight would come off, but looking at the pictures he still had 95 lbs. I just looked at the rules and he should have lost 40 lbs.
2002 AW/IR M3/SMG
