    NorCal question of the day....

When Arnold takes over, will those that already paid the triple registration fee get rebated????? I paid on the 8th of the month. Waited until the last minute.

My co-worker told me it will be retroactive.

I hope it is! Luckily my registration isn't due until March '04. Our other vehicles were due in Sept. & July, so we didn't have to pay the higher fees on them.

Last night\'s news said people who have already

paid should get a refund w/in 90 days. I wonder if you and all the others will get new bills/notices. One thing for sure, is you don't want to pay late. They'd love to get your penalty money!

No new bills, calculate the offset yourself

    California DMV

    Vehicle License Fee Notice

Governor Schwarzenegger has signed Executive Order S-1-03 rescinding the Vehicle License Fee (VLF) increase that went into effect October 1, 2003.

Customers who have paid the full amount will automatically receive a refund by mail beginning in early 2004.

Customers who have not already paid their registration renewal may calculate their lower fees by taking the VLF line from the billing notice multiply it by .675 and subtract that amount from the total fees due. Round this figure to the nearest whole dollar.

Submit the new amount by mail to the address on your billing notice:
